The Moral Imagination – Current Positions in Contemporary Art in the Face of Global Warming exhibition is showing over 20 international young art positions devoting themselves to the climate theme using a whole variety of media – installations, video films, sculpture and painting.
The various positions featured in the exhibition are not just addressing, documenting or reflecting about climatic phenomena, or in other words considering the consequences of human actions, but also offering strategies and potential solutions – including ideas for recycling and setting up closed systems.
The exhibition will be accompanied by a catalogue in German and English, published by the Verlag für Moderne Kunst Nürnberg: 183 pages, 76 colour illustrations, with essays by Dorothee Messmer, Raimar Stange and Harald Welzer and an interview with the climate politician Patrick Hofstetter and a foreword by Markus Landert and Markus Heinzelmann.
The exhibition will be curated by Dorothee Messmer and Raimar Stange.
