    In Context: public.art.ecology

    from 9th April to 16th April 2010

     

    The first ‘In Context: public.art.ecology’ residency commenced at the beginning of March. The artists’ (from India, Germany, Japan and the USA) projects focus on interventions in the public sphere. The curatorial intent underlying the residency stresses on the dialogic aspect of the artists thematic and intervention.

    The projects will be on view from April 8, 6:30 PM onwards
    across 3 venues::

    VENUE I:: At the Khoj Studios–
    Sheba Chhachhi ‘Bhogi/ Rogi’ (Interactive Video Intervention)
    Aliya Pabani, Namrata Mehta, Tejas Pande ‘The Object of my Extension’ (Intervention in public space)
    Sohei Iwata ‘Fieldwork in Delhi’ (Installation & intervention in public space)
    Navjot Altaf ‘Barakhamba 2010′ (Intervention in public space )
    Andrea Polli & Chuck Varga: ”Hello, Weather!’ (aka ‘Namatse, Mausam!)’ (Installation & Web based project)

    VENUE II:: 20 Barakhamba Road–
    (At Barakhamba Road, New Delhi)
    On view from 7:00PM – 9:00 PM

    Navjot Altaf ‘Barakhamba 2010′ (Intervention in public space )

    VENUE III:: At Select CITYWALK–
    (a 5 minute walk across the street from the Khoj Studios)
    Andrea Polli & Chuck Varga ”Breather’, (Installation)
    Sylvia Winkler & Stephan Koperl ‘PPR (Passenger Propelled Rickshaw)’, (Intervention in public space)

    Aastha Chauhan ‘Muft ki Salah & Gharelu Nuskhey’ (2009, 4 mins) (Sound Installation at the Khoj studios)

    (a stall in the local market, selling custom-made chappals that initiate a conversation about AIDS and its prevention)
    (Pushp Vihar, Near Select CITYWALK) on 5th April & 12th April, 5 pm onwards

    The exhibits at the 3 venues will be on view from 9th April to 16th April 2010 from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm
