COAL PRIZE 2010
COAL Prize 2010 was awarded in Paris on March 30, 2010 at Comptoir Général to the artist Thierry Boutonnier for his project Assolement. For its first edition, COAL Prize invites contemporary artists to work on the theme of environment now changing due to climate warming and Western lifestyles.
Anne-Marie Charbonneaux, Forewoman of the COAL Prize’s jury:
« COAL Prize is a key initiative. All records are of excellent quality and therefore the selection very difficult. Finally, the jury’s choice went towards a complex project close to a utopia, engaging the population of a difficult to implement sensitive area. COAL Prize, by the support and legitimacy it brings, will help the project to overcome the challenges that await him at the time of realization. »
